Integrative Veterinary Services is now offering a non-invasive technique of analyzing a patients’ health status.
Through Nutritional Response Testing (NRT), we can utilize the patients’ nervous system to determine which organs are specifically being compromised. It has been determined that many patients with chronic conditions, including those involving dermatologic, gastrointestinal, neurological, musculoskeletal, endocrine, neoplastic and even behavioral issues, are commonly attributed to chronic poor nutrition and environmental factors. The five common stressors that inhibit our body’s ability to heal include food sensitivities, scars, pathogens (bacterial, yeast, fungus, viruses, parasites), chemical burden and heavy metals – stored in our bodies cells.
NRT uses the animals innate neurologic response to these stressors by testing a muscle reflex. The reflexes are the bodys’ way of communicating to us the health of the nervous system, which is quite specific in how it conducts information to every organ in the body. This testing includes a full body scan to evaluate all organs, glands and musculoskeletal structures. The analysis is performed by the practitioner contacting the reflex area with one hand, while the other hand is testing the muscle of an indirect testers extended arm. If the reflex being tested is stressed, the patients’ nervous system will respond by reducing energy to the indirect testers arm, which will result in a weakening of the muscle and the arm will go down. This weak muscle response is an indication of underlying organ stress or dysfunction and likely a contributing factor in your pets’ poor health. Once this weakness is identified, we then determine which of the common stressors might be factors to the poor organ function. If a stressor is not identified, it is often determined that the patient primarily requires specific nutritional support, using whole food supplementation.
Each patients’ body has the potential to repair itself and maintain optimal health when given the proper dietary support. The information obtained by the muscle testing will allow us to formulate a specific clinical nutritional program for your pet to allow them to start the healing process. Once your pets nutritional program has been started, we will then monitor his or her progress and adjust the program as needed. Each case is handled on an individual basis. The majority of clients who adhere to their pets’ programs have reported noticing positive changes in the first 4 to 6 weeks. Some take longer, and some sooner. Your pets improvement is directly proportional to your adherence to their program.
